One More Light – Linkin Park – Chester Bennington

Oh hello! A few P3ers asked that I have a go at this tune. When I heard Chester Bennington sing this, I was truly moved indeed. I hope I did it justice here. I love y’all. Andrew Woodman shot the video. Kat Riederich engineered audio. Tim DeLaney helped with the mix. I edited the video on a computer. I also played guitar and sang.

Holy Diver – Mellow Metal Mashup!

We love us some Dio. I’m not sure what this song is about but Melvin Keith’s footage fit so nicely onto this song. Sometimes I feel like I’m more than just one person. Is that a thing? It’s like we’re both cruising along and I’m at the controls and then all of a sudden I just let go and the other me takes over. It’s not scary or anything. Just hard to explain. Do you ever feel that way? 🤘🏼 Get this sweet single here.

I Want To Know What Love Is – Foreigner Cover – Please Adopt

A new friend of ours (yours and mine) suggested I do this tune. I was like “I dunno”. What could I do that would make it ours (yours & mine)? Just then it came to me. All those sweet critters out there, in need of forever homes, are yearning for kindness and safety and security. They want to know what love is. And we (you & me) could provide that for them. Please adopt. Thanks for all the furry fan photos submitted by P3ers. 💜 Mick Jones wrote this song. I’m glad he did. Get this single here.

If I Can Dream – Happy birthday Elvis Presley!

This song was written by Walter Earl Brown and recorded by Elvis Presley for his ’68 Comeback Special just a few months after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King JR. I hope things are goin ok for you today. Wherever you are.
“I’m a big fan of dreams. Unfortunately, dreams are our first casualty in life – people seem to give them up, quicker than anything, for a ‘reality.’” -Kevin Costner

I texted with Santa and he texted back! Sort of.

Here’s a lovely Christmas time chestnut by lyricist Kim Gannon and composer Walter Kent! I like doing songs and texting in a paint by numbers world. Auto correct! Am I right? I hope Santa didn’t mind too much.

Juice – Lizzo cover – Why not?

Our friend, Rebekah Del Rio, asked me how I would feel about doing Lizzo’s song. I said I’d give it a go. I like saying yes first. This is how it turned out. I don’t understand some of the references in it but I love me some Lizzo. Jonathan Burns helped me transcribe the lyrics. I especially like the David Copperfield lyric. And yes, that’s really my voice. I didn’t know I could do that before.

Crazy Train – Chill Style – Ozzy Osbourne cover

My pal RL Martin came by the garage before we went to see an early viewing of The Joker. We were wondering what to play when train after train went by. He just started playing Crazy Train. Andrew captured it. One take and off we went. I know some of y’all are not gonna like what I did here, but I’m gonna go where the muse takes me. I’m just inviting you to come along for the ride. To see what happens. Let’s go!

Azure – Duke Ellington – Lullaby style

Here’s a nice lullaby tune for ya. Billy Pitman came by the studio this summer, and we got on a moon kick. “Azure” is a 1937 song composed by Duke Ellington with lyrics by Irving Mills. Making art with friends is the greatest thing.

I’m singing a Kinks song with Jake La Botz!

This song was written by Dave Davies. Our pal, Jake La Botz, stopped by the garage. We talked about life and living and his Buddhist meditation practice. Then we decided to play this song. It’s been on my mind lately, although I’ve never played it before. Jake plays a mean guitar, and I love playing that outta tune Ban-Tar or whatever it’s called. Let’s hear it for Andrew and that Fog Storm 1200! I adore making art with these guys. Get this single here.

Peter Gabriel cover featuring Rebekah Del Rio!

A dear friend asked me to consider this Peter Gabriel song. I gave it a listen and was just floored. It’s as relevant today as it was the day it was written. Compassion and empathy for all my brothers and sisters is always relevant. Our friend Rebekah Del Rio sings so beautifully and and with so much passion. I get schooled every time I hear her sing. She inspires me and I love her very much.
