Sorry I’m late. I’ve received so may requests to do this one and I heard ya. Trent Reznor wrote it. Johnny Cash/Rick Rubin covered it. I tried to do something different with it. It’s actually 1BPM slower than Cash/Rubin. I was channeling “Wall of Sound” meets David Bowie/Liam Mckahey. Oh! I recorded all of this in GarageBand on an iPad with my trusty Lewitt DGT 650 USB mic. I also shot the video on said iPad sitting on a milk crate behind my neighborhood Piggly Wiggly store. I ❤️ art & I ❤️ y’all!
Many thanks to my friends at LEWITT for the great DGT 650 USB mic. It’s got that feeling!. http://www.lewitt-audio.com
Thank you
Thank you for just being… Hope you come to Oregon we would love you something’s.
Yes, please come to Oregon!
The song makes me very sad. I feel the same way. But it is very good song. I love it.
Thank you.
I can’t add to what’s already been said. Brought me to tears, though.
Tremendous version P!!! We Canadians need you to pop on up for a visit and share the love.
Just thought about this today as I took out my fluglehorn for a spin after a couple of years of collecting dust. For whatever reason, I listened to ‘The Anniversary Waltz’ from ‘The Al Jolson Story’.
Your blessed baritone was meant to sing this song. ’nuff said!!!
Love and Peace
I find your ‘covers’ unique, in that they ‘reach’ me where the originals did not.
I’m older & most current music just eludes me; one exception is St. Vincent/Annie Clark (with the exception of her last release).
Your articulation/phrasing defies my categorization here, other than to say it’s superb. One request I’d like to enter is (another, for you) the Bowie song, “Cat People”/”Putting Out The Fire With Gasoline” which with your baritone tremolo I feel would really “fit” you. I admire your serious renditions, but this clip I include shows a circus scene (used in a hair care ad): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGgKZ1p4hoA [It’s a bit bad at the the end.]
You are such a beautiful soul….I have never been so mesmerized by a singer. I truly hope that you are finding fortune since the AGT episodes. You deserve the very best that life has to offer! Keep doing what you are doing and maybe I will catch a show in Phoenix someday!
Just came back from your show in Petaluma, CA. You are such a talented guy with a big heart, I can tell. I’ve listened to and I’ve seen all of your stuff. I never cease to be impressed and moved. Thank you for bringing art back into music.💜
Beautiful
